Adobe puts 70+ tools behind one ChatGPT plugin and lets the protocol pick the app
Adobe collapsed its separate ChatGPT connectors into a single free plugin on 6 August 2026, spanning Express, Photoshop, Firefly, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and Stock — no Creative Cloud subscription required. The load-bearing detail is routing: a plain-language request reaches the right application without the user choosing one, via the Model Context Protocol. Available on web, desktop and mobile, and Adobe says it works best inside ChatGPT Work and Codex.
What it means This is the protocol doing the thing it was designed for at consumer scale — the app-selection step disappears, which is exactly the surface a competing creative tool now has to win at.
