Autodesk and University of Florida open US robotics industrialized-construction lab

Autodesk and the University of Florida announced on August 4, 2026 the opening of what they call the most advanced robotics industrialized-construction lab in the US, aimed at housing and construction-labor shortages. Autodesk is funding $1 million toward equipment, renovations and workforce training.

What it means Construction is becoming the proving ground where robotics research meets an acute real-world labor gap — with university pipelines now funded to industrialize it.
