Cline joins the AI SDK harness layer via an official adapter

Shipped 18 August 2026, the @ai-sdk/harness-cline adapter makes Cline available through the AI SDK harness layer, built with the Cline team. The harness layer is the seam where a coding agent loop is swapped without rewriting the surrounding application.

What it means A standard harness interface is how agent choice stops being an architecture decision and becomes a dependency you can swap.
