Cloudflare introduces Kitesurf, an agent-first browser that runs in V8 isolates on Workers

On August 6, 2026 Cloudflare announced Kitesurf, a browser built for AI agents rather than people: it runs entirely in V8 isolates on Cloudflare Workers, giving agents fast, sandboxed web access without full headless-browser infrastructure. Cloudflare's own announcement and independent developer coverage landed the same day.

What it means Web browsing is the slowest, flakiest part of most agent stacks; a purpose-built sandboxed browser at the edge attacks both the cost and the security problem.
