GitHub CLI's Linux signing key expires today — APT and RPM installs break until you rotate it

The PGP key signing GitHub CLI's Linux package repositories expires on Saturday 5 September 2026. From the first release after that date, APT and RPM repository metadata is signed with a new key, and machines still holding the old one will fail to update until the new key is installed.

What it means Any Linux box or CI image that installs gh from the official repo stops updating this weekend unless the new key is added — a silent breakage in build pipelines.
