Moonshot's Kimi K3 enters OpenAI's enterprise Codex channel and billing

TechNode reported on 30 September 2026, citing Sina Finance, that Kimi K3 is now available in OpenAI's enterprise Codex channel through US inference provider Baseten. Enterprise customers can count its use against their existing OpenAI spending commitments, which Sina Finance described as a first for a Chinese open model. Baseten runs the inference and Codex provides the developer interface.

What it means Enterprises can use a leading Chinese open model inside an existing OpenAI contract without a new supplier agreement, which changes vendor-risk reviews.
