Hexagon agrees to buy geotechnical software maker Rocscience for $535M

AEC Magazine reported on 11 October 2026 that Hexagon has agreed to acquire Toronto-based Rocscience from TA Associates and its founders and management, valuing it at $535 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Rocscience software models rock, soil and structures, analyses slope stability and ground movement, and offers AI-assisted workflows including a natural-language interface, with customers in about 125 countries. Hexagon plans to feed live sensor and radar-monitoring data back into the engineering models through design, construction and operation.

What it means Models that are continuously recalibrated from live site sensors are the practical form of a digital twin for infrastructure and mining.
