A model vendor becomes a login button: Sign in with ChatGPT arrives on Vercel

From 29 July 2026 a ChatGPT account is an authentication option for Vercel, in beta, on Vercel’s and v0’s sign-in and sign-up pages and when installing the Vercel plugin inside ChatGPT — so a user can grant team and project permissions without leaving the chat. Vercel states that team requirements such as two-factor authentication and single sign-on still apply, and that the method can be re-authenticated or disconnected from account settings.

What it means Identity is where platform power settles. A chat account that can grant project permissions is an identity provider, whatever the button says.
