XPeng’s robotics unit raises over $900M at a $6.3B valuation ahead of humanoid mass production
XPeng said on 24 August 2026 that its robotics business had raised more than $900 million at a post-money valuation above $6.3 billion — reported as the largest single private round in China’s embodied-AI sector. IDG Capital led, with Gaorong Ventures participating and Tencent and Alibaba as strategic investors; XPeng itself put in $200M and executives $100M. The company expects its Iron humanoid to reach mass production by the end of 2026, with deployments first in its own stores and campuses.
What it means Humanoid programmes have mostly been demos; a raise this size tied to a stated end-of-year production date is a schedule the rest of the sector now gets measured against.
